Please join the 8th Annual KIDS WALK FOR KIDS WITH CANCER
May 10 in Central Park!!

  • Why? All funds raised will support desperately needed research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering into neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer with a 30% survival rate nationwide.
  • How to join? Just show up! No registration is required and all walkers are welcome. Bring your friends and families!!
  • When? Saturday, May 10. Gather starting at 1:30 pm -- program starts promptly at 2 pm, so please leave time to locate your friends and be situated by 2 pm.
  • Where? Central Park. Enter the Park at West 67th St and meet us right across the Park Drive slightly to the north of Tavern on the Green (see directions)
  • What to bring? (i) Your own water bottle(s). (ii) An umbrella if it's overcast. (iii) A small box/bag of cookies or other finger-food for the post-walk snack table would be a big help!
  • How long is it? The approximately 4.5 mile walk takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Most walkers arrive back at the start point by 4:30, where we gather again for snacks and socializing.
  • Dress code? You can buy an official walk shirt for $10 at the walk (until they run out). Alternatively, wear a medium blue ("Carolina blue") colored shirt. Let's make a show of support for kids with cancer when we walk through Central Park!
  • Where are we walking? Walk north from start point; turn east at 72nd; head north to 102nd and cross the park; walk south back to start point. Maps of walk path available at walk.
  • How can I help save kids from cancer? PLEASE ask friends and family to sponsor you with a donation for research at MSKCC. Email everyone you know our form fundraising letter (download here). Donations can be made on-line . Cash or checks (payable to Hope Street Kids) should be listed on your Donor Form (download here) and brought to the Walk in an envelope labeled with your name and school. If you are not getting sponsors, we'd be grateful for a $20 donation per family (other than MSKCC families).
  • But what if I can't walk that day? We'll miss you, but you can still raise funds and help the kids! Ask your friends and family to make a donation on-line.
  • Tell me again -- why are we doing this? The Sloan-Kettering doctors believe that, with more funds for research, they can save more children. By getting sponsors, we can help save kids who are fighting cancer today. Take a step and get a sponsor! Join us in the Park and take a lot of steps for kids with cancer!!
